John P. Hamilton

Mr. Hamilton joined Cobbett & Cotton in 1999 and practices in the area of civil litigation.  Over the past 20 years, he has acted for clients in a variety of civil disputes. His practice now focuses on ICBC Injury Claims and Disputed Wills & Estates.

Mr. Hamilton is committed to litigating on behalf of private clients in those cases where a lawyer can make a real difference.  He has years of experience obtaining favourable results for his clients.

Mr. Hamilton was born and raised in Vancouver.  He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of British Columbia in 1988 and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria in 1991.  After completing his articles at a Vancouver law firm, he was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1992.  He has been recognized by the Canadian Bar Association for participating 15 years in the CBA’s Lawyer Referral Program, a public service to increase access to justice.

Away from the practice of law, Mr. Hamilton is a busy father and husband.  He enjoys staying in shape playing recreational ice hockey in the Adult “Safe” Hockey League at Burnaby 8 Rinks.
